Program Manager, Global Migration

Job Summary

The Program Manager is the lead person on the Global Migration team responsible for all aspects of Global Migration grantmaking, including coaching partners and internal processing. Currently, the grant program includes a biennial grant process, an annual Mustard Seed Grant program for local churches engaging in migration programming, an Afghan Refugee Resettlement Reimbursement program for churches resettling Afghans, and Solidarity grants, as needed on an emergency basis.

Essential Job Functions

Review Global Migration applications and coach partners through the application process.

• Design and update grant review processes and documents on a regular basis

• Support project and proposal development by coaching applicants and grantees at all stages of the grant cycle.

• Design and lead orientation webinars for new applicants and new grantees, collaborating with other internal units.

• Recommend strategies, processes, and procedures to promote efficient and effective grant-making on behalf of the Global Migration team and in cooperation with other internal organizational units. Recommends process changes to Director.

• Coordinate flow of documentation through the various internal units and the administrative team, regarding grant agreements, requests for disbursements, no-cost extensions, grant closures, document review by General Counsel, etc.

• In collaboration with the administrative team and the Monitoring and Evaluation unit, is responsible for the management and tracking of all migration grants documents and data.

• Other duties as assigned.

Major Accountabilities, Experience and Education

• Manages grant making for all types of Global Migration grants.

• Coordinates orientation events grant application and review cycles and other training or informational events, as needed.

• Manages data and information related to Global Migration

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant years of work experience required. Master’s or equivalent education/work experience desired.
• Minimum three (3) to five (5) years grants management and/or relevant technical expertise, preferably supporting more than one initiative/program at a time.
• Minimum three (3) years combination of program management, grants making, migration, and refugee resettlement experience.
• Experience with grants management systems and databases required.
• Experience tracking and supporting multiple relations with grant partners or projects.
• Excellent organizational skills
• Solid written and verbal communications skills in English, as well as in Spanish, and/or French.

Other Specialized Knowledge, Skills or Abilities

• Previous experience in grants making, migration, refugee, or tracking sectors preferred.
• Proficient across Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and remotely
• Ability to work cross-functionally across programs/departments
