Objective of the consultancy
This consultancy aims to assess and develop effective forest governance monitoring system for community forestry that can build the capacity of NSAs to generate reliable information to enable them and forest-dependent communities to more safely and effectively conduct real-time monitoring of forest status, including illegal forest activities.
1.Scope of work/ Major responsibility
The consultant is expected to recommend a forest governance monitoring system with focus on community forestry which can be piloted in the selected CFs of the Project.

Requirements
· A graduate of forestry, environmental economics, development economics or any related course;
· Knowledge on sustainable forest management especially community forestry
· Familiarity with the Myanmar forest rules and regulations on community forestry;
· Familiarity with forest governance in Asia or Greater Mekong Region
· At least 10 years of relevant experience in natural resource management specifically focusing on of community-based forest management, protected area management, biodiversity conservation. At least 5 years of relevant experience in developing forest monitoring systems or tools
