I.Mission of the Department
The WWF Myanmar Freshwater Team supports the aims and objectives of WWF Myanmar through a series of projects and activities promoting sustainable water resources management. One of our specific focus areas is on conserving the last two large free-flowing rivers in south-east Asia – the Ayeyarwady and the Salween, both of which flow through Myanmar.
II.Major Functions
Leading the regional project on promoting water stewardship to achieve more sustainable water management, which will be executed together with WWF Vietnam and WWF Greater Mekong
III.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Managing the regional water stewardship project and its team in accordance with the project document and donor requirements
· Ensuring adherence to the project’s workplan and budget so that it achieves its objectives to reduce the impact of pollution by small and medium enterprises
· Ensure optimal donor relations, including reporting
· Achieve productive relations with key stakeholders in government, private sector and CSOs
· Managing project consultancies
· Coordinate the project’s Advisory Group
IV.Profile
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, e.g. business management, environmental science, engineering
· At least 4 years of working experience out of which at least 1 year working experience in an international NGO
· Experience in working with senior Myanmar government and private sector stakeholders
· Experience in reporting to international donors
· Fluent in Myanmar and English
